West Sacramento-based Raley’s has hired a retail industry veteran as its chief operating officer.
The grocer said Keith Knopf, 48, will oversee daily corporate operations, sales, merchandising and marketing/advertising.
Knopf’s background includes stints with May Co. department stores and the Kohl’s retail chain. Over 25 years, he has held management positions in store operations, business planning, merchandise planning, information technology and finance.
In a statement, Knopf said: “I am a strong believer in delivering a personalized customer experience and involving team members in the company’s vision.”

Family-owned Raley’s operates 127 stores in Northern California and Nevada under four banners: Raley’s Supermarkets, Bel Air Markets, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source. The company was founded in 1935 by Thomas P. Raley.
