Business owners and entrepreneurs who want to start a business and learn how to comply with California’s tax laws are invited to attend a free small-business tax seminar Thursday.
The seminar is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Rancho Cordova City Hall, 2729 Prospect Park Drive. Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m.
Seminar topics include tips for record keeping, establishing ownership and avoiding common problems with sales and use taxes. Representatives from the California State Board of Equalization, the state Employment Development Department, California’s Franchise Tax Board and the federal Internal Revenue Service will conduct presentations and answer questions.
