Ten credit unions headquartered in Sacramento County had 1.11 million members at the close of this year’s first quarter, up 7 percent from the opening quarter of 2014, according to new statistics released by the Ontario-based California Credit Union League.
Sacramento-based The Golden 1 Credit Union claims to have more than 700,000 members.
Collectively, the 10 Sacramento County-based credit unions had handed out loans totaling $7 billion as of March 31 this year, a 22.4 percent increase over the year-ago period. Deposits totaled $12.3 billion in the first quarter, up 7.2 percent over last year’s first quarter.
