These Sacramento restaurants and bars just received a $26,000 boost
Sacramento-area residents pitched in more than $26,000 to a GoFundMe page designed to benefit local restaurants, bars and cafes. On Wednesday, they found out where the money went.
The City of Sacramento announced the 26 grant recipients, most of which received $1,000, on Wednesday. Restaurants and bars had to apply for the micro-grant program; seven of the city’s eight council districts were represented, according to an email from Mayor Darrell Steinberg’s office.
California restaurants have been forced to eliminate dine-in service and bars have shut down entirely to stop the spread of the coronavirus, which is known to have infected nearly 17,000 people with COVID-19 througout the state as of Wednesday.
The 26 restaurants and bars that received $1,000 grants apiece are:

- BBQ & Burgers
- BonnLair
- Coffee Works
- Crest Cafe
- Fox & Goose Public House
- Hook & Ladder Manufacturing Co.
- Ink Eats & Drinks
- Jalapenos
- Jimmy’s Poke House
- Kru Contemporary Japanese Cuisine
- La Terraza Mexican Restaurant
- Limelight Bar and Cafe
- Midtown’s Cantina Alley
- Old Ironsides
- Queen Sheba Ethiopian Cuisine
- Sac City Brews
- Shift Coffee House
- Steamers Bakery & Café
- Sun & Soil Juice Co.
- The Golden Bear
- The Rind
- Vibe Health Bar
A second round of grants will be distributed at an undetermined date once additional donations are collected.
Organizations including the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce and Greater Sacramento Area Economic Council helped determine how to divide the funds.
