Roseville unveils list of more than 100 businesses getting COVID-19 relief money
The city of Roseville has announced its selection of more than 100 businesses set to receive a portion of a $1 million small-business loan.
According to officials, 111 businesses were selected out of a pool of more than 276 applicants vetted by “a panel of city employees and external partners,” according to a news release from the city. The zero-interest, secured loans from the Roseville Small Business Stabilization Program, aimed at easing the economic impact of COVID-19, will be dispersed in increments ranging from $5,000 to $20,000.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy. These loans are a lifeline during a time of unprecedented disruption,” said Roseville Mayor John B. Allard II in a statement.
Micro businesses with five or fewer employees received a maximum of $5,000, while small businesses with six to 25 employees received a maximum of $20,000 depending on the amount of full-time employees.
Officials say the fund will help save 1,092 jobs.
Recipients include Monk’s Cellar brewery, the Northern California Dance Conservatory and Chando’s Tacos.
“My family and I have worked very hard to build this brand as many other small businesses have. It’s awesome on so many levels to know the City has our back and acts fast,” said Chando’s Tacos owners Chando and Karla Madrigal in the release.
