Coldwell Solar Inc., a Rocklin-based builder and installer of industrial-scale solar energy systems, said Thursday that it purchased a nearby 23,000-square-foot building that will become its new headquarters.
Don Carlson, Coldwell’s vice president of project development, said the company expects to move operations into 500 Menlo Drive by late July. Currently, the company operates out of less than 10,000 square feet at 3845 Atherton Road.
“We have a need for a bigger building in so many ways. We’re really expanding. We hired just hired five last week,” Carlson said in a phone interview.
Privately held Coldwell did not disclose the purchase price of the existing building. Carlson said the company has already done extensive upgrades inside and out.
Coldwell Solar also has commercial operations in Petaluma, Visalia, Bakersfield and Burbank, plus offices in Phoenix and Albuquerque, N.M. Company-wide employment is about 50.
