Regional tech startups making pitches through Folsom venture capital firm’s contest

Folsom-based Velocity Venture Capital’s Entrepreneurs Showcase contest, an annual competition pitting Sacramento-region tech startups against each other for a chance to win cash, prizes and scholarships to VVC’s Fall Accelerator Program, has begun its online voting phase.

Startup contestants are soliciting votes at $1 each. Votes are purchased using the Vote-by-Donation platform developed by The Bot7 Co., a Sacramento-based startup, and Accelerator Program alumni. Vote proceeds support VVC’s Entrepreneurs Showcase programs and the venture capital firm’s Entrepreneurs Campus at 909 Mormon St. in Folsom.

Each startup contestant has prepared a profile to solicit votes, which will be accepted through July 16. More information, access to contestant videos and the voting gallery are at www.velocityvc.com.

On July 27, the top 10 startup contestants will pitch their products to investors at a fundraising golf tournament at Serrano Country Club in El Dorado Hills.
