Sacramento’s River District businesses more optimistic in latest chamber survey
Businesses in Sacramento’s River District have a vastly improved outlook about the 830-acre area north of Sacramento’s downtown core compared with five years ago, according to a May “business walk” survey conducted by the Sacramento Metro Chamber.
The survey of more than 100 district firms found 70 percent of them saying business was good or great. That’s up from 22 percent in 2010. In that year, 51 percent of the 82 companies surveyed said business was slow or poor. That fell to just 5 percent in 2015.
In recent years, the district has seen an influx of residential, office and commercial land-use projects and a light-rail extension.
