Dave Lawlor, who held a senior finance post at George Washington University in the nation’s capital for the past seven years, has been named chief financial officer and vice chancellor of Finance and Resource Management at UC Davis.
Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi announced the appointment on Tuesday.
In a statement, Katehi said Lawlor “has the right combination of skills and experience to bolster our standing as an institution that is fiscally strong and less dependent on the variables of state funding.”
Lawlor assumes his new duties Nov. 3.
A native of Dublin, Ireland, Lawlor’s previous California experience includes working as a portfolio analyst for Wells Fargo in San Francisco and 10 years in management posts with Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies.
