Asking price for area businesses up from 1st quarter, down from year-ago median
The median asking price of small- and medium-size businesses for sale in the Sacramento area during this year’s second quarter was $198,995, up sharply from $169,000 in the first quarter but down 8.3 percent from the year-ago median of $217,000, according to San Francisco-based BizBuySell.com.
Second-quarter 2015 calculations were based on 252 Sacramento-area businesses listed at BizBuySell. The Sacramento statistics are based on listing data, not on actual completed business sales.
Of the second-quarter listings, 120 of them were service-related businesses with a median asking price of $160,000, and no business sector had a median asking price of $1 million.
