Amazon plans to hire more than 1,000 seasonal workers in the greater Sacramento area, as retailers across the country brace for the impending holiday season.

The e-commerce company said it would hire full-time and part-time seasonal positions in Sacramento, Roseville and Folsom. The company has a broad footprint here, with more than 10 operations sites in the region.

The jobs will offer at least $18 per hour and health benefits.

The local hiring push is part of a national effort: Amazon plans to add 30,000 seasonal positions statewide and 250,000 across the U.S.
