Items from 98-year-old Sacramento auto shop up for bid
An extensive auction of automotive items housed in a nearly century-old, recently closed Sacramento business will be up for auction online next week.
The liquidation auction of items by Porter-Sprague Inc., the longtime auto body/repair shop at 722 12th St. downtown, includes motor vehicles, shop tools/equipment, industrial machinery and specialized automotive equipment.
Porter-Sprague, started in 1917, recently closed to make way for an auto service center to be operated by Mel Rapton Honda.
The online-only bidding site is westauction.com/auction/1354.
An inspection will be held on-site from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday. Bidding starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday and will conclude on various items between 10 a.m. and 2:37 p.m. on Thursday. All payments are due by noon on Aug. 10. Removal of items can be done Aug. 11-12.
See the auction website for more information.
