Arden Fair announced Tuesday that Sacramento mall will fill a portion of the former Nordstrom building with a Restoration Hardware Outlet, set to open in mid-December.

The high-end home furniture company, branded as RH, will occupy 45,000 square feet on the mall’s first floor, according to a news release from Arden Fair. Nordstrom closed its anchor at the mall’s north end in 2020 amid a sweep of 16 closures by the Seattle-based chain, which happened soon after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Founded in Eureka in 1979, RH spent its early years as a purveyor of nostalgic, antique items. The new store joins its full-fledged RH at Roseville’s Westfield Galleria.

The company went public in 2012, and changed its name to RH in 2017. It has expanded into higher-end furnishings and decor, and restaurants and hotels.

The Corte Madera-based company had 40 other outlet stores as of February, according to regulatory filings.
