Porsche Turned Toy Story 5 Characters Into Real 911s

Porsche and Pixar Back in Action

Remember when Porsche built Sally Carrera from Cars in real life? That collab with Pixar proved wildly successful, delighting children, the young adults who watched the movie when they were much younger, and perhaps even the parents who saw the film with their kids. Now that Cars is 20 years old, one would think that Porsche and Pixar would do another project together.

And, indeed, the two have come together yet again, but it's not for Cars. Instead, it's for Toy Story 5, and the result is a trio of 911s that each represent the movie's main characters: Woody, Buzz, and Jessie.

Another Sonderwunsch Special

The Toy Story-themed 911s are courtesy of Porsche's Sonderwunsch program, and the division has made some of the most truly unique one-off models. For this Pixar collab, the three 911s proudly wear avatars of Toy Story's most beloved characters and were created for the red-carpet premiere of the franchise's fifth installment.

It seems that the two companies were more than glad to work together again. "Reuniting with the team at Porsche that created the Sally Special from Disney and Pixar's Cars, and working to create these three all-new Toy Story 5 cars which will hopefully bring joy everywhere they go, is very meaningful and a great way to raise money for a good cause," said Timo Resch, president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America.

The Cars

The Buzz Lightyear car was teased just a few days ago, and yes, it's in the same color scheme as the Star Command space suit. Those colors were then applied to a GT3 RS, which is rather appropriate, as both the GT3 RS and Buzz's suit feature massive wings.

For Jessie, Porsche went for a 911 Targa 4 GTS with a paint scheme inspired by her outfit. The Targa's open-top design likely reflects the character's more adventurous side, so we can say the car selection suits her well. It should also be noted that the intricate details on the car's body were applied by hand.

As for Woody, he's paired with a 911 Carrera T, a solid model in between the GT3 RS and Targa 4 GTS. The sheriff's Porsche is, quite literally, draped in jeans blue, as a closer look at the bodywork reveals a denim-like appearance. Its gold highlights provide a neat contrast and match Woody's badge and belt buckle.

Custom Cars for a Cause

Now that the cars' jobs are effectively finished, the three will be auctioned off soon. With that, someone out there, presumably with more than enough cash to burn on one-off Porsches, will be driving around in any of these soon. It should make for one heck of a car-spotting find and quite the conversation piece at a Cars and Coffee meet. Oh, and proceeds of the sale will go to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the American Red Cross, and Starlight Children's Foundation.

It's pretty cool that Porsche and Pixar have made these special 911s for the movie. That said, we'd like to see more automakers hop on the Toy Story theme. Perhaps Toyota can do a Tacoma dressed up as a Pizza Planet delivery vehicle, or Mercedes with an Emperor Zurg-inspired AMG GT 4-Door.
