Wal-Mart has opened a temporary hiring center at 8876 Vintage Park Drive, Suite 103, in Sacramento, near the store the retailer is scheduled to open this fall.

The company says it will hire about 300 part- and full-time workers to staff the Walmart Supercenter at 8915 Gerber Road.

Ground was broken last fall on the 132,000-square-foot store site.

Applications will be accepted weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays at the hiring center or online at careers.walmart.com.

Wal-Mart said it also will offer a job to any eligible U.S. veteran honorably discharged from active duty. Details at walmartcareerswithamission.com.
