Health care company to hire 235 in Sacramento area

An Arizona health care company is opening an operations center in Rancho Cordova this fall and will hire 235 nurses, patient-service representatives and others.

TriWest Healthcare Alliance is the first company lured to the region by the Greater Sacramento Area Economic Council, which replaced the Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization as the area’s chief business recruiter and economic development organization. TriWest is based in Phoenix, where the Greater Sacramento group’s Chief Executive Barry Broome spent a decade recruiting companies.

“I am proud to welcome TriWest Healthcare Alliance to greater Sacramento,” Broome said in a prepared statement.

TriWest administers health care programs for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and has undergone significant expansion recently. Last month alone it announced the opening of operations centers in San Diego, New Orleans and Nashville, Tenn., creating around 800 jobs total.

“We are scaling our workforce companywide, to include operations right here in Rancho Cordova,” said TriWest President David J. McIntyre Jr. in a prepared statement.

The Rancho Cordova center is to open Nov. 2. TriWest plans to hire patient-service representatives, nurses, behavioral-health representatives and other employees. Applications can be submitted at www.triwest.com/jobs.
