Claim Jumper restaurants offering free meal to military veterans

Two Sacramento-area Claim Jumper restaurants are providing a free meal to U.S. military veterans next Monday, part of the chain’s nationwide effort to honor vets.

The offer is connected to Veterans Day, which is Nov. 11.

The local Claim Jumper restaurants are at 1111 J St. in downtown Sacramento and at 250 N. Harding Blvd. in Roseville.

Landry’s Inc., the Houston-based hospitality and entertainment company that owns Claim Jumper, said veterans will be able to order a free lunch or dinner from a special menu that includes beef, fish, chicken and pasta entrees.

The company said the free Nov. 10 meal is being offered to those who have been honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy or Coast Guard. Active duty military personnel who have served in an overseas war zone also are eligible. Verification of service is required, and the offer does not apply to takeout orders.

Landry’s said reservations are “highly encouraged.”

There are 42 Claim Jumper restaurants nationwide, 24 in California.
