Sacramento auction house offers preview of extensive nautical collection
Witherell's auction house in Sacramento will host a Saturday preview of up-for-bids nautical antiques collected worldwide over 20 years by an international businessman.
The preview of more than 600 lots – from shipping and cruise lines to military vessels – will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Witherell’s annex, 1925 C St.
The collection, dating from the 19th century through the Korean War in the mid-20th century, includes display ships, maritime clocks, nautical instruments, advertising materials, postcards and brochures. The collection’s overall value is estimated at more than $100,000.
The online auction commenced Wednesday and runs through Oct. 7.
