The year-old Sierra College Veterans Center in Rocklin says it has been designated as a hub to help U.S. military veterans connect with local resources for small businesses.
College officials said the hub designation is part of the recently created Capital Region Small Business Development Center. The center, announced in September, is jointly managed by the Sacramento Metro Chamber and California State University, Sacramento, under a federal contract from the U.S. Small Business Administration contract. It will coordinate services to assist small businesses in eight Northern California counties – Sacramento, Yolo, Yuba, Sutter, Lake, Colusa and portions of Placer and El Dorado.
SBDC help will include business loans, startup advice and one-on-one counseling. The Metro Chamber oversees the SBDC and has teamed up with Sacramento State’s College of Business Administration, which also runs its own Center for Small Business.
The Sierra College Veterans Center’s Small Business Development Program is supported in part by a $25,000 donation from Wells Fargo. For more information: email@example.com or (916) 660-7470.
