Sleep Train event raises record $1 million for foster kids

Rocklin-based Sleep Train said it raised a record $1 million to benefit foster children during its recent Lincoln Hills Golf Club charity event in Placer County.

The money raised at the Sept. 23 Charity Golf Classic pushed the combined total over the event’s nine-year history to nearly $4.5 million.

Sleep Train officials said the funds raised this year will help middle school and high school-age foster youth achieve their higher education goals, specifically supporting GED completion, tutoring, fees/supplies for standardized testing and costs associated with applying for college.
