Federalist Public House, a new beer garden and restaurant in midtown Sacramento, is hosting a mini-job fair Thursday at its novel shipping-container site. The restaurant, which is set to open Thanksgiving week, occupies an alley location at 2009 N St. and is made entirely of shipping containers.

Owner Marvin Maldonado said he’s hiring 10 to 15 bartenders, cashiers, servers and catering staff. Applicants should bring a resume and apply in person between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday.

“We’re trying to open next week, so they’ll get crash-training,” both for the restaurant and for several catering jobs the new eatery has already lined up, Maldonado said.

When it opens late next week, the Federalist will have 11 beers on tap, 20 more in bottles and cans, plus a “pizza-centric” menu that aims to be “Mediterranean with a California twist,” he said.
