Local “hackers” get super fast connection
The Sacramento tech community celebrated the launch of the region’s first super fast gigabit Internet connection with a midday ceremony at the Hackerlab, co-working space.
The new high speed connection at the 1715 I Street office is 200 times faster than the upload speed used to write this item.
The super fast connections are touted as a way to spur technology companies and unleash uninhibited innovation by removing Internet lag time.
The connection was sponsored by Consolidated Communications and CCI fiber+. The Hackerlab becomes one of only a handful of spaced in the state with a connection that fast.
