Area luxury home sales flourishing

The greater Sacramento area’s high-end home market continued to flourish in this year’s third quarter, according to two reports released this week.

There were 143 luxury home sales in the greater Sacramento region in the quarter, a 41 percent increase over the previous year, according to Lyon Real Estate.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage said luxury homes sales in Sacramento, El Dorado and Placer counties climbed more than 17 percent year-over-year, based on its measurement standards. Coldwell said there were 257 sales of homes in the region for more than $750,000 in July through September.
