Wal-Mart to hire more than 3,200 holiday season workers in California

Wal-Mart said Thursday that it will hire more than 3,200 seasonal workers throughout California for the upcoming holiday season.

The retail giant said the hires will be spread out among 302 stores statewide. Wal-Mart does not break out hiring estimates for individual metro markets.

Open positions include sales associates, cashiers and stockers, some of whom may be offered the opportunity to stay on as full-time employees.

Wal-Mart said it currently employs nearly 90,000 store workers statewide.
