Sacramento-based Sharif Fine Jewelers is hosting grand-opening ceremonies on Thursday for its third local store, at 1001 K St. in downtown Sacramento.
From 5 to 9 p.m., activities at the 4,800-square-foot store will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a special jewelry display and a raffle. Officials said 5 percent of proceeds from purchases during the event will go to Sacramento’s TLCS, an organization that offers services to people with mental health issues.
In a statement, owner Mahmud Sharif said: “We have been looking into opening a store downtown for the last six years...The recent development on K Street reaffirmed our decision to open a store in that area.”
Sharif Fine Jewelers has been in Sacramento since 1980. Its other stores are at 1338 Howe Ave. in Sacramento, and at 341 Iron Point Road in Folsom.
