California Safe Soil LLC, a West Sacramento-based food recycler, is among 10 finalists chosen for an elite “thrive accelerator” program that helps entrepreneurs develop agricultural technologies for use worldwide.
Sponsored by Silicon Valley Group and Forbes magazine, the 2015 program selected 10 finalists from among more than 40 ag tech companies in the United States and globally. They will receive mentoring from Silicon Valley investors and from leaders at some of California’s top fresh-food companies.
The winners will be featured at the “SVG/Forbes Reinventing America AgTech Summit” July 8-9 in the Salinas Valley, competing for funding and the opportunity to deploy their technologies at top ag companies.
CSS technology recycles fresh food from local supermarkets and processes it in a West Sacramento facility. The resulting liquid fertilizer is pasteurized for food safety, stabilized for extended shelf life and emulsified for easy application by farmers using their existing equipment.
