KCRA to add 4 p.m. weekday newscast in January

Sacramento’s Channel 3 (KCRA) will add a new, one-hour weekday TV newscast at 4 p.m., beginning Jan. 25.

It will be anchored by Lisa Gonzales and Brian Heap, with weather information provided by meteorologist Eileen Javora. KCRA said the newscast will include coverage of breaking news and live traffic updates.

“Research has shown that people are looking for news, no matter what time of day, and our new 4 p.m. newscast will give our viewers even more opportunity to get news and weather information,” Elliott Troshinsky, president and general manager of KCRA and sister station KQCA My58, said in a statement.

KCRA 3, a Hearst Television station, marked its 60th year on the air in 2015.
