CEO of Davis firm to take short-term medical leave

Davis-based biotech firm Arcadia Biosciences Inc. announced Wednesday that President and CEO Eric Rey will take a short-term leave of absence to undergo a medical procedure.

The firm said Rey will undergo an elective procedure to install a stent in a coronary artery, and a full recovery is expected.

Arcadia said Rey will return to his executive duties after being cleared by his physician.

Arcadia board member Mark Wong will serve as acting president and CEO during Rey’s absence. Wong has more than 35 years of experience in the agribusiness industry.

Arcadia, an agricultural technology company, develops products meant to benefit the environment, enhance human health and make agricultural production more efficient.
