Walmart market opens Wednesday in Citrus Heights
A new Walmart Neighborhood Market will open early Wednesday in Citrus Heights.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. at 6197 Sunrise Blvd., across the street from Sunrise Mall.
The day’s festivities will include presentations of Walmart grants to local community groups. On Saturday, family activities are scheduled from noon to 3 p.m.
The 38,500-square-foot store will employ nearly 100 part- and full-time workers and be open 24 hours, seven days a week. It will be stocked with a wide range of merchandise, including groceries. A pharmacy is on-site.
Walmart neighborhood markets are designed to be smaller versions of the company’s superstores, which average about 197,000 square feet.
