Asking price for Sacramento-area small businesses rises at close of 2015
The median asking price of small businesses for sale in the Sacramento area during last year’s fourth quarter was $230,000, up 15 percent from the prior year median of $199,000, according to San Francisco-based BizBuySell.
Fourth-quarter 2015 calculations were based on 182 Sacramento-area businesses listed at BizBuySell.com. The Sacramento statistics are based on listing data, not on actual completed business sales.
Service businesses led the fourth quarter of 2015 data, with 80 listings at a median price of $212,495.
Other key statistics for local small business buying and selling transactions indicated a significantly improved market compared with the end of 2014.
