Sacramento’s Hacker Lab hosting weekend classes for kid gamers

Hacker Lab, the Sacramento nonprofit that helps nurture technology startups, is hosting a beginner class on Saturday for youngsters interested in learning the basics of making video games.

The class, for ages 7 to 14, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Hacker Lab, 1715 I St. Parents are asked to drop off and pick up students. There is a $20 fee.

The instruction is designed to help students create games for computers, mobile devices and the Web without having to type code or learn complex systems.

An intermediate class, also with a $20 fee and geared to the same age group, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
