Two Mark’s Hallmark stores in Sacramento malls were closed this week.
The store in Arden Fair mall closed after longtime talks to move to a new location within the shopping complex broke down.
“We’ve been talking for several years about the location, with both the franchise and corporate, but we never reached an agreement,” said Jamie McDaniels, marketing manager for Arden Fair.
Also closing this week was the Mark’s Hallmark at Downtown Plaza, a shop that continued to operate amid nearby construction of the new Sacramento Kings arena. A person answering the phone at the store Friday said it was permanently closed but did not elaborate.
