California’s Franchise Tax Board is again offering free online services to tax return filers this year.
A recently enhanced version of its “MyFTB” service can be used to initiate contact with an FTB representative during officer hours, access personal income tax calculators, file a power of attorney declaration and obtain tax-filing information.
Taxpayers also can use the “CalFile” link to file returns for free. FTB said the free service is available to annual incomes as high as $357,417 and those who make itemized deductions and are eligible for certain tax credits. CalFile can be used for the tax years 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Both the MyFTB and CalFile links can be accessed from the FTB homepage: ftb.ca.gov.
