CBS considering ‘strategic options’ for its radio business

New York-based CBS Corp. said it is considering “strategic options” for its sizable radio business, which includes five Sacramento stations.

Analysts speculated that Tuesday’s announcement could mean that CBS intends to sell off its radio business outright, or spin it off.

CBS has one of the nation’s largest radio networks, with 117 stations in 26 markets.

Its Sacramento radio stations are KHTK-AM (1140), KNCI-FM (105.1), KSFM-FM (102.5), KYMX-FM (96.1) and KZZO-FM (100.5).

Leslie Moonves, CEO of CBS, said Tuesday that it was going to “explore strategic options for radio as a whole.”
