Sacramento County credit unions grow, set records in 2015
Sacramento County-based credit unions continued to see growth and set records in 2015, according to the California Credit Union League.
CCUL said 10 credit unions headquartered in Sacramento County had 1.16 million members at the close of 2015, up 77,200, or 7.1 percent, from 2014.
County-based credit unions loaned a combined $8.8 billion last year, a record and a 20.3 percent year-over-year increase.
New auto loans, which dipped during the recession, increased 32.7 percent last year to a record $2.13 billion. Used auto loans in the county rose 16.5 percent to a record $2 billion in 2015.
Deposits in Sacramento County credit unions also reached a record total in 2015 at $13 billion, up 9.5 percent from the prior year.
