Sacramento-area gas prices continue to rise, now at $2.61 a gallon
Sacramento-area gasoline prices rose another 8.3 cents over the past week to an average $2.61 a gallon, according to Monday’s report by national gas price tracker GasBuddy.com.
At-the-pump costs have spiked 44.5 cents in the past month, but they’re 46.3 cents lower than the year-ago average.
Nationally, the average retail price of gas rose about 5.6 cents over the past week to $2.04 a gallon, up 29.5 cents from last month and the first time the U.S. average has topped $2 a gallon since December.
GasBuddy noted that refineries are transitioning to production of pricier spring/summer-blend gasoline.
