Thursday job fair at McClellan geared to U.S. military veterans
A job and resource fair geared to U.S. military veterans will be held Thursday at McClellan Conference Center.
The “Honor a Hero, Hire a Vet” event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5411 Luce Ave., in McClellan Park, in North Highlands.
The event focuses on assisting military personnel – including National Guard members and reservists returning from active duty – with finding a job.
The California Employment Development Department and the Sacramento Municipal Utility District are co-hosting the fair. Organizers said more than 100 employers and 25 supportive services providers will be on-site.
Government agencies and community organizations also will be on-site to provide information on employment, benefits, training, education, apprenticeships and various veteran services. Attendees will have opportunities for one-on-one resume review and career coaching. Workshops will be offered to help job seekers find and apply for state and federal jobs.
