Report: Small business-for-sale listings in Sacramento area soar in first quarter
The median asking price of small businesses for sale in the Sacramento area in this year’s first quarter was $297,000, up 75.7 percent from the prior year’s median of $169,000, according to a new report by San Francisco-based BizBuySell.
First-quarter 2016 calculations were based on 211 Sacramento-area businesses listed at BizBuySell.com. The Sacramento statistics are based on listing data.
Service businesses led the first quarter 2016 data, with 96 listings at a median price of $247,500. That was up 66 percent from the year-ago median of $149,000 for 129 businesses in the service sector.
