Got Sleep?, the specialty bedding retail chain, said it donated more than 3,100 mosquito nets last year to help prevent the spread of malaria in Africa.
Got Sleep? is run by Rocklin-based Sleep Train Mattress Centers.
The local company’s annual drive is in partnership with Nothing But Nets, a global campaign created by the United Nations Foundation in 2006. Nothing But Nets provides insecticide-treated bed nets to African families at risk of contracting malaria from mosquito bites.
For each sleep system purchased, the Got Sleep? company donates funds for two nets to Nothing But Nets. Since 2006, the Nothing But Nets campaign has helped deliver more than 9 million nets.
