Roseville-based technology consulting firm Direct Technology has launched a new business unit, the Payment Solutions Group, which aims to provide point-of-sale security solutions for retailers.
DT said the unit provides services to integrate hardware and software, with a goal of increasing security and protecting the private information of consumer card holders.
“In light of the recent data breaches, retailers are looking for smarter ways to safeguard their customers’ data. Keeping up with day-to-day operations, while navigating through the complexities of payment security can be burdensome for retail IT staff,” DT President Dan Konieczny said in a statement.
The company said its new unit recently provided a point-of-sale security solution for a Sacramento-based retailer with more than 300 stores throughout the western United States.
