After four seasons and more than 100 episodes, “The Car Czar Show” hosted by Doug Brauner on Sacramento channel 31 (KMAX-TV) will air its last new episode on March 1.
Brauner, a certified automotive technician who has long hosted various radio and television shows in Sacramento and appeared in national telecasts of major U.S. auto shows, said he opted to end the TV show to concentrate on his local auto-repair business and devote more time to his family.
The weekly half-hour show on CW 31 airs at 11 a.m. on Sundays, featuring Brauner as a studio host before a live audience. Content covers a wide range of automotive topics, including Brauner’s reviews of new vehicles.
Brauner oversees auto shops in Sacramento and Citrus Heights under The Car Czar brand.

“It’s a rare and remarkable opportunity to get to host a television show doing what you love to do,” Brauner said in a statement. “I will never rule out creating another show, but for now I am excited to be just a mechanic.”
Brauner said he will continue to be a regular contributor to CW31’s “Good Day Sacramento” show.
