Construction to start on affordable-housing complex in Auburn

USA Properties Fund Inc., a Roseville-based developer of affordable housing, is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday for a low-income apartment community in Auburn.

The 64-unit, $19.6 million complex is being developed by a private-public partnership that includes USA Properties and Placer County.

The Quartz Ridge community will include a clubhouse, computer room, kitchen area, laundry room and swimming pool. The site is at 360 Silver Bend Way, just east of the Foresthill Road exit off Interstate 80.

Quartz Ridge will feature 12 one-bedroom, one-bath apartments; 32 two-bedroom, two-bath units; and 20 three-bedroom, two-bath units. Rents will range from $351 to $1,010 per month.

USA Properties will begin accepting rental applications in the next few months. Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2016. For details, see usapropfund.com or call (916) 773-6060.
