Home prices are rising along with the temperature in Sacramento.
Sales of existing houses in Sacramento County rose 12 percent in March from the same month of 2014, from 1,392 to 1,559. The median sales price of existing homes in the county jumped by 9.8 percent – from $245,000 to $269,000, according to CoreLogic Dataquick.
That price was $4,000 higher than in February 2015.
All seven Sacramento-area counties included in the CoreLogic analysis posted sales increases, with the highest percentage gain coming in Placer County. The 591 existing homes that changed hands in Placer represented a 26.3 percent increase over the previous year. The median price rose to $375,000, a 4.2 percent increase. Placer has the highest median price in the Sacramento region.
