This ‘world-class’ Yolo County ranch filled with amenities just sold for $10 million

A 9,330-acre ranch in rural Yolo County — with a 7,000 square-foot home and a 4,000 square-foot lodge — has just sold for $10 million.

The estate sits just an hour from Sacramento in the town of Guinda in the Capay Valley. The listing agency, California Outdoor Properties, calls it a “California gem” and a “most perfect place for the recreational enthusiast.”

That’s because Pine Ranch offers plenty of opportunity to hunt black tail deer, quail, dove, pig and turkey; fish a self-sustaining lake full of largemouth bass, bluegill and catfish; hike, camp or horseback ride on thousands of acres; and swim at a lake that has a half bathroom.

However, you don’t have to rough it. The Western-themed main residence comes with five bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, two half baths, a resort-quality swimming pool, large entertainment deck and a four car garage. The lodge features three en-suite guest rooms, a fireplace and expansive kitchen designed for large gatherings.

The property allows the owner to run 400 pair of cattle, with a roping and cutting area, too. There’s a covered riding arena, six-stall barn with a tack room and grooming/wash rack.

Before buying the land in 1995, the sellers, Mark and Becky Pine, had a great vision for the property.

They began to “assemble their dream of a world-class recreational facility,” according to a video accompanying the listing.

“Through amazing vision, the family has successfully transferred bare land into a lifestyle desired by many,” the California Outdoor Properties video explains.

“It was totally undeveloped when we bought it,” Mark Pine said told Mansion Global in a recent article. “We had to run seven miles of underground cable for electricity.”

The undertaking began with building the main house for themselves, and the barn and pastures. Three years later, according to Mansion Global, they added the lodge for guests and entertaining, and then the large pool area and roping arena.

The listing agent is Todd Renfrew with California Outdoor Properties.

“It’s unbelievable the amount of money they spent on it,” Renfrew said in the article. “It’s the kind of house that you’d find in a city somewhere, but it’s out in the middle of nowhere.”

Renfrew said the Pines’ children are all grown up, so it was time for them to sell and move on.

He didn’t represent the buyers, but said the place will suit them well, too.

“They are private people looking forward to escaping the city life, hunting, entertaining friends and enjoying the outdoors,” Renfrew told The Bee.
