Known for speed, racer Rusty Wallace lists relaxing mountain retreat for $1.6 million
The North Carolina home of race car champion and NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace has hit the market for $1.599 million.
The four-bedroom, four-bath home at 1020 Ridge Drive in Linville, N.C. commands long-range views of Grandfather Mountain.
Sitting on 3.25 acres, the one-level floor plan features hardwood floors throughout its 3,567 square feet of living space. There’s an open kitchen crafted with granite counter tops, walls of windows, a floor-to-ceiling fireplace and expansive decks showing off the mountain vistas.
Josh Aldridge, Natalie Earnhardt and Jonathan Rivers of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s Linville Ridge office are the listing agents.
“This immaculate home is the perfect blend of luxury and privacy,” Rivers said in a news release. “Nestled in a picturesque mountain setting, its soaring ceilings, elegant lighting and fine finishes evoke the ultimate mountain lifestyle.”
Wallace may be selling this home, but the racing legend will remain in Linville Ridge, according to a news release. He has already purchased another property in the community.
Wallace, 63, is a 55-time Cup Series Race winner. His accomplishments include winning the 1984 NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year award and the 1989 NASCAR Winston Cup Championship. In 2013, he was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.
The home, built in 2006, was listed at $1.8 million earlier this year, according to realtor.com.
