Let’s go inside New York penthouse Jennifer Lawrence has on market for $12 million
Jennifer Lawrence may take a big loss on the sale of her New York City penthouse, but the property now on the market at $12 million is stunning nonetheless.
The Academy Award-winning star of “Silver Linings Playbook” and “The Hunger Games” has dropped the price tag from the original listing of $15.45 million.
“By 2016, Lawrence could afford any living accommodations that suited her fancy and she picked a glamorous duplex penthouse on New York’s Upper East Side at the top of The Laurel, a 30-story condominium,” wrote TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, which featured the home in an article Monday. The address is 400 East 67th St.
Lawrence got her big acting break in New York, but she now spends her time in Los Angeles near the Hollywood studios, the real estate website reported.
The sprawling 4,073-square-foot penthouse features three bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths, 12-foot ceilings and far-reaching 360-degree views of the East River, 59th Street bridge and downtown Manhattan. Glass walls let natural light flow into the home.
Outside, a 3,000-square-foot, two-floor outdoor terrace includes a kitchen, fireplace with pergola, built-in ping-pong table and great views of the city and Hudson River.
Back inside, there’s a formal living and dining room with city-scape views and an eat-in chef’s kitchen. The large master suite and the game room opens more spectacular views.
Lawrence appears to be motivated to sell, but it remains to be seen if she gets the $12 million for the penthouse. New York Compass real estate broker Martin Eiden gave his take on the property in a Nov. 1, 2019, realtor.com article after Lawrence lowered the price to $14.25 million.
“It’s a lovely penthouse in a good building at an OK location,” Eiden told realtor.com. “The problem is, there are at least 100 other properties in this price range that have the same description. She bought it at the height of the market for $15.6 million. I’d advise to hold on if she could, or suffer a substantial loss and offer it at $12 million.”
The listing agent is Pamela D’Arc of Compass, New York City.
