Massive castle between Seattle and Canada just hit the rental market at $1,400 per night

A 22,000 square-foot castle—an hour from both Seattle and the Canadian border—just hit the market as a vacation rental going for about $1,400 per night.

“It just screams luxury and royalty,” Emily Peterson, the estate manager, said in a news release.

Graystone Castle, a massive, stone residence in Arlington, Washington, is a great “breathtaking vacation rental” for families or other groups, Peterson said.

The mansion was completed in 2018 and just recently became available on VRBO and Airbnb.

The property sleeps up to 25 people and features seven luxurious bedrooms, including some with en-suite baths, sitting and reading turrets and outdoor terraces—all on five acres.

In all, Graystone offers more than 15 beds, 10 bathrooms, a movie theater, a spa-inspired master bathroom, pool table, game arcade, poker room and a life-sized indoor chess game.

Dancing or karaoke your thing? There’s a three-tier ballroom for that, too.

With four dining spaces, four fireplaces and four living rooms, the palace is being pitched as a place for family reunions or vacations with groups of friends.

Graystone Castle boasts stunning views of the Stillaguamish River and the Stilly Valley.

The owners bought the property for $900,000 and spent $600,000 on renovation, and another $250,000 on furnishing and upgrades, Peterson told The Sacramento Bee. It’s currently worth about $3 million, she added.

Construction on Graystone began in 1992, according to The Oregonian. Peterson told the newspaper that Graystone Castle was purchased as an investment. The owners expected they might live or retire there.

Peterson told The Oregonian she is not booking the castle for weddings, big events or commercial use.
