This ‘chic’ Carmel Valley hacienda comes with grove that produces artisan olive oil

A chic hacienda in Carmel Valley that comes with a mature olive grove used to produce an artisan olive oil is on the market for $4.295 million.

The stunning main house—3,362-square-foot, four bedrooms, four baths—sits on 2.5 acres of land that grows nearly 450 olive trees. The olives are harvested annually to produce N°13 Olive Oil.

More than 10 years ago, the former owner planted over 500 olive trees—most of which are Spanish Arbequina, a common cultivar in the Basque region of France.

“Elevated and effortless living is delivered at this elegant and chic single-level hacienda,” according to the official listing.

The house was built to flow seamlessly between the interior and exterior spaces, and “mesmerizing” views are found throughout the home. A southeastern orientation provides sun for most of the day, until it sets behind the Santa Lucia Mountains.

The compound at 15488 Vía La Gitana, dubbed “Villa Oliva,” also has a cabana and a guest house.

If olive oil production isn’t your thing, perhaps cars will do the trick. Car aficionados will enjoy the spotless, detached 10-car garage, fit with a lift to accommodate additional automobiles.

Other amenities include an outdoor kitchen, large stone patio, salt water pool and spa with a dressing room, steam and sauna shower.

Environmentally, an irrigation well provides water for all the landscaping needs, and solar energy powers up the rest of the compound. A back-up generator can run the entire property when needed.

The home is listed by Compass agents Mark Peterson and Dana Bambace. The property hit the market in early March 2020.
