This ‘enchanted’ castle in Granite Bay is for sale – lakes, bridges, swans included
A 15,440-square-foot fairy-tale castle in Granite Bay on nearly five acres of land with large lakes, charming bridges, exotic waterfowl, soaring fountains and pristine gardens is now available at an undisclosed price.
This property is used by members of the exclusive Swan Lakes Castle Club who have private access to the high-end venue for events such as corporate retreats, birthday parties, family gatherings and weddings.
Some of highest-profile businesses in the world hold events at the castle located off Auburn-Folsom Road near Folsom Lake, said listing agent Tricia Rossi of The Rossi Group, Gateway Sotheby’s International Realty. She declined to identify those companies on the record, but said the estate is marketed worldwide.
“Swan Lakes Castle boasts the traditional design elements familiar to castle enthusiasts, including cathedral windows, a sweeping staircase—perfect for making an entrance—bridges over the property’s waterways, and an elegant fireplace,” according to the listing.
Rossi said she and her colleagues have toured properties around the world, but Swan Lakes Castle “continues to blow people’s minds.”
It’s easy to see why. The 4.7-acre, elegantly manicured grounds center around a white castle. The mansion features vaulted ceilings, staff quarters, a wine cellar, fitness center, 10-car garage, and balconies that overlook an interior courtyard from every level. The front entryway features a gold door. Swans cruise the castle’s waterways.
The selling price of the the 10-bedroom, 21 bath home — which sits across from the tony Los Lagos community about 24 miles northeast of downtown Sacramento — is not listed. Rossi wouldn’t disclose the price tag. The listing states the price is available upon request.
The property was originally a “luxury fishing and entertainment” sanctuary — dubbed “Ponds at Granite Bay” — owned by entrepreneur Gary Cino, founder of the 98 Cent Clearance Center chain, according to a 2008 Sacramento Bee article.
This estate last sold on Jan 10, 2019 for $2.2 million, according to public records.
The current owners spared no expense in improving Swan Lakes Castle, Rossi said.
“They continue to enhance the property daily to make it more impressive,” she added in an email response.
“If you are seeking a home that creates a unique lifestyle experience, the enchanted castle will meet all of your expectations.” Rossi said.
