Check it out: Steve Harvey buys Versaille-style mansion once owned by Tyler Perry for $15 million
An incredible Atlanta mansion once owned by media mogul Tyler Perry has been sold to talk-show host and comedian Steve Harvey for $15 million.
In 2016, Perry sold his Buckhead home for $17.5 million to evangelist David Turner. That transaction was considered the priciest single-home residential property ever sold in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Perry had originally listed the palatial property at $25 million in 2015, then dropped the price. It’s still the highest-priced home in the city.
The 34,688-square-foot mansion’s design is based on the Palace of Versailles with “added features that would have left King Louis XIV speechless,” according to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, which shared permission to publish photos of the estate (see video above).
The estate on the banks of the Chattahoochee River spans 17 acres. The home at 4110 Paces Ferry Road features seven bedrooms and fourteen baths, stately formal rooms, a two-story library, an infinity-edge swimming pool outside and a resistance pool inside. There’s a lighted tennis court on top of a two-story parking garage, a gym, spa and an underground ballroom with a catering kitchen.
There are both formal and informal gardens on the property, as well as a guard house and caretaker’s suite. A generator can power the entire estate and a high-level security system comes with two gated and secured residential entrances.
The pool shines with a Versailles-style painting on the bottom and seating areas among fountains where guests can relax on bar stools and watch the swimmers.
Perry bought the mansion in 2007 for $9 million, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. He’s invested millions in improvements.
Chase Mizell of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s was the listing agent for the seller. Lisa Robinson represented the buyer, according to Leah Christian of Engel & Völkers Atlanta.
Perry is a creative powerhouse in acting, writing, directing and producing. In 2011, Forbes listed Perry as the highest-paid man in entertainment. The creator and star of the Madea comedy film franchise, Perry has generated massive wealth estimated at over $600 million — all before the age of 50.
